About Alice
I
trained and worked as an artist, psychologist and art therapist
in the USA for several years,
and have always been interested in nature. As a therapist
working with children and young people who had been damaged,
my interest in images and symbols was intensified; as was
my fascination for phantasy landscapes as illusions or windows
to other places or other perspectives. Whole rooms or living
spaces can be transformed with murals, trompe l'oeil or
pictures that reflect individual and unique themes, drawing
the viewer in to pause refocus and 'inscape'. My work as
a therapist has led me to a place where I need to heal myself,
explore different mediums and styles, and draw energy and
life from the colurs and forms around me.
I
have exhibited my work in the USA, Houston and Dallas Texas,
Kentucky, North Carolina, Atlanta Georgia, New York City,
Long Island. Since I moved back to the UK in Tunbridge Wells,
Rochester, Sevenoaks, and London. My murals and trompe l'oeils
are in several homes grand and petite. I have taken part
in the 9th Salon International Peinture et sculpture Exposition
2005, Audun le Tiche, France, where I received a prize for
my watercolours. I had a one woman show 2005 in the gallery
comte Godfrey in Esch-Sur-Sure, Luxembourg. I have taken
part in a show at Gallery North, Hailsham, Liberte d'Art
Exhibition, London, and am exhibiting my work in Chalk Gallery,
Lewes and have a show at Imagen Gallery, Hastings in January
2007.
Alice
has had considerable experience with contract work for pubs,
clubs, hotels and restaurants, will undertake commissions
and will travel to most locations at home and abroad.
